The main focus of DWM is on the Church. In 2 Timothy, Paul instructs the young Pastor, Timothy in how to precipitate maturity in the body of believers called, "The Church". One of the main reasons why so many of the people of God are in counselling, in a backslidden state, in sin, etc. is that there is a fundamental misunderstanding of the Word of God.
The "truth" has not been clearly understood or faithfully passed on to them by mature believers. It is possible for everyone to understand these great truths and victoriously apply them in their lives.
Four main criteria are required for this understanding to take place :-
My hope is that you would "press on to the mark of the upward call in Christ"; take hold of these truths and be faithful in passing them on to younger Christians. A "father" in the Lord is of more benefit to the body than an instructor. Paul says to the Corinthian church in 1 Cor 4:15, "For though you have ten thousand instructors in Christ, you have not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have fathered you through the gospel"
Through this ministry, I will attempt to bring some clarity to a few of the questions so many Christians have today with regard to the Bible; its validity in today's society as well as these hidden truths. It has been said that "the Old Testament is the New Testament concealed and the New Testament is the Old Testament revealed". God set in place, at the beginning of time, mysteries of creation and a destiny for Man that was hidden within His Word. A number of mighty men of God have, since then, been able to "tap in" to these mysteries and live overwhelmingly victorious lives, in the kingdom, because of this "apokalupto" knowledge (taking off of the cover, revealing). They were able, with spiritual perception, to understand their purpose or "calling". God has a plan (destiny) and purpose (calling) for every human being. Through disobedience and rebellion, Man constantly turns his back on this incredible plan and decides that he has no higher purpose during his life than to chase after things that will give him immediate pleasures. If that's your view of life, you are cheating yourself out of the greatest inheritance that any father has ever left any child. We need to start out on this journey of discovery. What are these mysteries that God has for me; what are the hidden treasures of His word; what is my destiny; what is my purpose? Too often, we give up and say that what we have read took place "in the old days, it no longer applies to us today". WRONG!!! God is the same yesterday, today and forever. What He said yesterday was for our instruction today. It is essential that every Christian grow into maturity so that he can rightly handle the word of truth.
The growth in a Church can be measured by how much "passing on" is being done by the faithful, mature people of God in that ministry. By how many "fathers" are discipling their "sons" - not "parking-lot prophets" but men and women who have an accurate understanding and revelation of the word and its application and relevance to any situation. Make sure that you are well equipped to do that. If you aren't in a born-again, spirit-filled fellowship now, ask around. Check out our links page for Christian sites that might be able to help you find a body of believers near you. Don't be afraid to pay a price for travelling distances to attend a church in the house.
